Project Location: Lawrence, KS
Project Description:
This award winning project is one of Musselman and Hall’s most outstanding decorative concrete projects. M&H worked with local design firm Gastinger Walker to develop the exact samples needed to complete the project. The decorative concrete crew poured 15,800 square feet of 4” thick integrally colored polished concrete using the Bomanite Renaissance System for the concrete topping slab. The highlight and centerpiece of the project included a 24 foot diameter KU Jayhawk symbol in the lobby of the business school. The concrete Jayhawk overlay included intricate zinc inlays and varying colors of gray polished concrete. The concrete was polished to a “salt and pepper” aggregate exposure with s semi-gloss finish. The decorative concrete crew met the aggressive work schedule and completed the project within the 2 week time limit.
