Project Description: Musselman and Hall Contractors was chosen to completed a 1.5 million dollar reconstruction project for the old apron asphalt pavement surrounding Hangar 5 at the Advanced Aviation Services and the Heart of America Commemorative Air Force museum. The project called for the removal of the 30 year old, 3-5” thick asphalt overlay atop the olc concrete pavement. The asphalt was milled off, the concrete base was broken up a new asphalt overlay was laid over the top of the existing site. Despite wet summer weather conditions, the project was completed and turned over to the airport authority three weeks ahead of schedule in the summer of 2017.
